The Office of Ministry Protection is announcing some improvements to the CONNECT Insurance database, along with an opportunity to view an instructional webinar about the changes and information about the upcoming annual insurance review. Please review the information below and distribute it to the proper persons at your church.
CONNECT INSURANCE DATABASE: The upgraded and much improved version will include a cleaner look and feel, and will have a number of new features intended to make it easier for you to maintain your church’s risk management information. As part of this upgrade, the registered users in the CONNECT database were sent an e-mail on Monday, Aug. 11, with their personal user ID and a temporary password, along with instructions on how to access the new database. The first time they log in to the upgraded site they will be prompted to change the password. If you have any questions about this upgrade, please send an e-mail to umcfla@ajg.com , or call Ana Ruiz at 800-282-8011, Ext. 126.
CONNECT EDUCATIONAL WEBINAR: To assist churches in navigating and understanding the improved database, this free, educational webinar can be viewed on the Conference website [click here].
ANNUAL INSURANCE REVIEW: It is time to again prepare for the renewal of the Florida Conference’s comprehensive property, casualty and workers’ compensation insurance program. To ensure that your church is provided with appropriate coverage and billed an accurate premium, we are asking for your help in providing us with the most up-to-date information possible for your church.
It is essential that each church review its information every year to ensure it is as accurate as possible. The information you provide is grouped together with the information provided by all other Florida Conference churches and submitted to insurers to obtain the new renewal rates and quotes for the conference insurance program. Your assistance is crucial in this process and greatly appreciated. This year the dates for the insurance survey will be from Aug. 18-31. After obtaining the access information to the improved CONNECT database and attending the instructional webinar, you will be set to review and update your church information beginning August 18. Should you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our Web site at www.flumc.org/ministryprotection.
